Of Newsletters and New Stories

I know it's been a while since I made a blog post here, but I have some exciting news!

Firstly, I've moved my newsletter yet again (yes, I know, this is the second time, but, hopefully, it will also be the last!). I ran into some issues with MailerLite and, after a few months of putting the newsletter on hold to research what to do about it, I started hearing more about a site I'd heard mentioned in passing a while ago and completely forgotten about: Substack. So, I did a bit of digging, asking around from those that were using it and, generally just explored the site as a lurker to see if I liked. And guess what? I did!

So, I upped sticks from MailerLite and got setup over on Substack and I'm absolutely loving it there! This has also attributed to my extreme forgetfulness in regards to updating my blog here, however, I've (thus far) managed to establish a successful posting schedule over there of twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and would love to invite you to join me there! In addition to posting my monthly newsletter of general news, writing updates, and life, I also share some of my artwork and their accompanying 'seed stories' (micro-fictions) over there, serialized chapter drafts of work-in-progress novels, bonus stories, or stories (both long and short), my love of word/phrase etymology, and more. There are both free and paid subscriptions offered with paid subscribers getting to read ten chapter drafts ahead of free and non-subscribers. All subscribers (free or paid) get the free, newsletter exclusive, bonus epilogue for From the Ashes, as well as, any other bonus epilogues that I may write in future.

Speaking of newsletter freebies, I've come to a decision on something. Earlier this year, I wrote a short, bonus story to From the Ashes and was originally going to share it on Patreon and in my newsletter when the book reached ten reviews on Amazon. However, given how long it often takes to get reviews on Amazon, I've decided to share them whenever I feel like it and have one ready. Which brings be to this...........

Next week, I will be releasing the first bonus story for From the Ashes! This will be a free, public post on my Substack newsletter. It will be available to read directly in the newsletter, but there will also be downloadable versions available in different formats. The Letter is a prequel short story. It will also be available to patrons on Patreon.
