Hi, all! Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm starting, yet another, new book project! If you follow my Patreon, SubscribeStar, or Buy Me a Coffee pages, I mentioned it briefly in my post about my project plans for May, but wanted to share it with you here and give you an update on it along with a little teaser.
As I've said already, I've started a new book project and the first chapter is finished, and I'm part way through the second. I don't want to reveal too much yet (partly because it might change as I'm still sorting it all out myself; pantser, remember?), but the working title (which, at this point, I'm thinking I might keep, but, again, we'll see when it's finished) is From the Ashes, and is going to be a Cinderella retelling.
Very likely, this will be the first in a series, but it all depends on where the story leads me. At this point though, I think it probable that I'll go on to write other fairy tale retellings in that same world. My plan, at this point, is to share chapter drafts on Royal Road before the book, ultimately, releases on Amazon in it's final and prettied up form. Not sure yet when I will be sharing chapter drafts to Royal Road as, when I asked around on the website's forum, it was recommended that I wait until I have a good backlog of chapters and am mostly finished writing the book before I start sharing them. The reason being that it'll allow for shorter gaps between updates and retain better visibility on the site. Thus, giving me a better chance of picking up an audience there for the book. However, I will be starting to share them on Patreon, SubscibeStar, and Buy Me a Coffee fairly shortly; so, if anyone would like to get advanced access to these chapter drafts and be able to read them long before they go public on RR, just visit one of those pages and pick a support tier or make a custom pledge (custom pledge option is only available on Patreon)!
In the meantime, here is a slight teaser in the form of the temporary book cover that I painted in Corel Painter! I plan to remake the cover once the book is finished and being gotten ready for final publication on Amazon, but it's nice to have something until then as Royal Road encourages having some sort of book cover.
